MARLTON NJ — Today, as a Texas court hears arguments to remove protections for people with pre-existing conditionsAndy Kim is slamming Tom MacArthur for starting this assault on New Jersey families.

"Congressman Tom MacArthur wrote a bill that would have gutted protections for people with pre-existing conditions, imposed an age tax on older Americans, and hiked premiums on New Jersey families," said national security official Andy Kim. "We need leaders who will look out for everyone, including people with pre-existing conditions like asthma and diabetes, not representatives like Congressman MacArthur who only look out for the bottom line of their corporate donors.”

Congressman MacArthur has taken over $400,000 from pharmaceutical companies and the insurance industry. While writing the health care bill, he invested nearly a million dollars of personal money into corporations that stood to profit from the bill. Later, before voting for the GOP tax bill, MacArthur again invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in oil and gas companies that got a $25,000,000,000 tax break. Finally, while Congressman MacArthur claims to be working hard to end the opioid epidemic, it was revealed he accepted $37,000 from companies being sued for their role exacerbating the opioid crisis.
