Saxton's Retirement + Senator John Adler=Good News for Ocean Democrats!

3rd Congressional District an Opportunity for Change

The recent announcement that Congressman Saxton plans to retire is good news for Ocean County Democrats who were already excited by the announcement that Democratic State Senator John Adler would run for Congress in 2008.  Senator Adler brings experience both as a legislator and a campaigner to the race.

Adler has been named one of the state's ten best legislators by New Jersey Magazine, which called him "hardworking, incisive, and respected by both parties." PoliticsNJ.com lists the Senator among New Jersey's smartest state legislators, calling him "persuasive and respected." And just last month, the Philadelphia Inquirer said he has an exemplary record in the State Senate.

Says Ocean County Chairman Wyatt Earp:

> With John Adler's name on the ticket, I am confident that we can win

> New Jersey's third congressional district in 2008.  I look forward to

> working with John and fighting to change direction in Ocean County.

Says Former Congressional Candidate Richard Sexton:

> I fully support John Adler for Congress and look forward to him

> representing our district in the U.S. House of Representatives. I have

> known John for many years and know that he will represent all of the

> people in this district on issues like health care for children,

> veterans' benefits and economic growth. Just as importantly, he is a

> good person who will do the right thing and not the politically

> expedient thing. We need people like John Adler in Washington.
