National Democratic Candidates

President Barack Obama

As President, Barack Obama has dedicated himself to putting Americans back to work and restoring economic security to middle-class families. He’s been driven by the basic values that make our country great: America prospers when we’re all in it together, when hard work pays off and responsibility is rewarded, and when everyone—from Main Street to Wall Street—does their fair share and plays by the same rules.

Vice President Joe Biden

While in office, Vice President Biden has worked on major foreign and domestic policy initiatives, including implementing the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to help rebuild our economy and lay the foundation for a sustainable economic future. He is the chair of the administration’s Middle Class Task Force, a White House initiative to raise the living standards of middle-class families in America, and has continued his work to prevent violence against women.

Vice President Biden is heavily involved with Iraq policy and has traveled to the country multiple times since taking office. Vice President Biden continues to draw on his foreign policy experience, advising President Obama on international issues and representing the U.S. in countries across the world.

Senator Robert Menendez

At a time when the American Dream seems threatened, Bob Menendez’s life is a reminder of the promise and potential our nation holds out to those who work hard and give something back. He and his family overcame the challenges of making it into the middle class, an experience that shaped his values and serves as the motivation behind his tireless work to remove the obstacles that are keeping Americans from achieving their dreams.

In the United States Senate, Bob Menendez stands up for New Jersey and stands up to those who try to bend the rules and take advantage of hard working families. Bob Menendez knows where he comes from. So in these tough times, New Jersey’s middle class knows they can count on him to help restore the American Dream for them.

Brian Froelich for Congress

  4th Congressional District

Brian   is an experienced and accomplished business person who has responsibly managed multi-billion dollar businesses, budgets, and organizations. He knows how to properly allocate resources and to manage and balance budgets. He has successfully negotiated agreements around the world with both allies and adversaries to create win-win partnerships.

He will bring fiscally responsible solutions and rational dialogue to the halls of Washington.

Brian has spent years working with civic and charitable organizations to help people less fortunate. He will bring a sympathetic, empathetic and understanding nature to the issues of health, human, and individual rights. He is a strong supporter of the Constitution and will resist government efforts to intrude into the private affairs of its citizens. For example, he strongly believes in women’s rights and is against current Republican efforts to impose unnecessary and harassing procedures into a woman’s doctor-patient relationship.

Voters will appreciate his compassionate representation

Brian understands that to get important things done you have to find ways to work and cooperate with people. Refusing to negotiate or using abusive language is not a successful strategy for making an organization or a government work successfully for its people. He is committed to work cooperatively with all individuals in government- both in the Executive and Legislative branches, whether Democrat or Republican. His goal is not to insure the failure of another politician but to insure the success of government for the people.

Shelley Adler for Congress, 3rd Congressional District

Shelley Adler became frustrated, like most Americans, by politicians playing games in Washington instead of doing what is right for middle class families. It is her belief that a new direction is needed in Washington and that our children, middle class families, seniors, small businesses and veterans deserve better from Congress. That is why she is running for Congress in New Jersey’s Third Congressional District.

Shelley is fighting to create new jobs and to restore accountability by rooting out wasteful spending. She is pushing for tax incentives to help small businesses create jobs in new industries, to improve benefits for veterans, to provide middle class tax cuts, and to protect Social Security and Medicare for senior citizens.

Shelley is offering a fresh perspective by calling for an issue-based campaign that will create a real discussion of the challenges facing our country.

She believes that politicians in Washington have the wrong priorities as they give massive tax breaks to billionaires and big corporations, and subsidize big oil at the expense of the middle class. Shelley Adler is running for Congress because middle class families, small businesses, senior citizens and veterans need someone who will truly be on their side.

Cassandra Shober, Business Woman and Community Leader, Announces Bid for 2nd Congressional Seat

May 1, 2012—Ventnor, NJ—Cassandra Shober, businesswoman and community leader, announced her bid to run for New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District on Tuesday. Shober is a longtime South Jersey resident and is active in numerous local non-profits including the United Way of Atlantic County and the Boy Scouts of America.
Shober says of her bid, “I’m running for Congress because New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District deserves a representative who will put middle class families, children, and seniors first. We cannot continue to allow Washington special interests and Big Oil companies to control the direction of our nation and our economy,” Shober continues, “With my personal and professional background, including first-hand knowledge of the challenge of running a small business, I have the skill-set, ideas, and steadfast dedication to stand up to special interests and get our economy moving forward.”
Of the current 18 year incumbent, Frank LoBiondo, Shober says, “Congressman LoBiondo does not fight for the priorities of our district and has spent his career voting against the interests of the people he represents. Most recently, he voted to increase the financial burden on seniors by ending Medicare as we know it, and cut education funding for our children and young adults all while giving tax breaks to the ultra wealthy and Big Oil companies. He has failed to take any meaningful action to address the unemployment crisis in South Jersey. He is clearly out of touch with what is truly important to the people of this district.” Shober points out, “Congressman LoBiondo has misplaced interests and plays partisan politics. There is too much gridlock in Washington, and Congressman LoBiondo is part of the problem. The House of Representatives is the seat of the people, and we need a representative who will work for and with the people. I will never let partisan politics get in the way of the needs of South Jersey seniors, families and children. ”
In addition to running a business, Shober supports the ACBA Rockin’ the Kitchen events, raising money and awareness for Sister Jean’s Kitchen and Food Bank. Her involvement with the Atlantic County Bar Association allowed her the opportunity to spearhead the “Going to Bat for Kids” program where the ACBA brought 200 UWAC kids to a baseball game at the Sandcastle stadium.
She grew up in South Jersey with her father, a doctor and Vietnam War Veteran, and her mother, a biologist. Shober lives with her husband, Bard Shober, and their son Dale in Ventnor, NJ.
