Shaun O'Rourke
Ocean County Freeholder Candidate
Shaun O'Rourke will work to preserve our quality of life, reduce our tax burden and help make Ocean County affordable again. Shaun is a committed environmentalist, retired teacher and a former Council member for Point Pleasant Borough. As Chief Naturalist for the Ocean County Park System, he helped educate his fellow citizens on the importance of preserving our remaining open space and protecting the environment. As a Council member, he was committed to providing cost effective services and controlling taxes. He understands that in Ocean County, poor planning and uncontrolled development have driven up our taxes, and he is committed to controlling development and reducing spending. He has resided in Point Pleasant Borough for 30 years and is currently married.
Michael Collins
Ocean County Freeholder Candidate
Michael Collins believes Ocean County government need citizen watchdogs to help keep government honest and affordable. That's why he supports moving the Freeholder meeting time from 4:00 in the afternoon to the evenings so that working residents can see and question their government. Michael will make cutting government costs a top priority. He'll slash lawyers' fees and cut the $6 million in overtime costs that taxpayers are being forced to foot the bill for. Michael currently lives with his wife in Eagleswood Township and is a 25 year resident of Ocean County. He is a Civil litigator with 25 years experience protecting the interests of his clients and volunteered as a coach for the Southern Regional High School Mock Trial team. He is a member of the Ocean County and NJ Bar Association.
